Did you know...Shana Farr had a song in her heart when she moved to New York over 20 years ago, and she fell in love at HARRY WINSTON. While building her performance career, Shana climbed the ranks at the luxury jeweler learning the importance of design, detail, and craftsmanship, to ultimately become the Global Director of Merchandise. After Harry Winston, she was a designer and merchandiser for one of New York's largest jewelry manufacturers, and her pieces appeared in Macy's, Kohl's (Simply Vera, Vera Wang), JCPenny, HSN and QVC, Zales, Ross Simons, and more. She eventually left the corporate world to continue her performing career but she missed jewelry. So in 2012, she launched her own brand, Pure Imagination. Her product was featured in Bridal Guide Magazine and has been written up in the Huffington Post, JQ International, and more.
As a performer, Shana Farr is now an award-winning supper club/cabaret/concert performer who has played at venues such as Westminster Abbey in London, Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Hall), Jazz at Lincoln Center (Rose Theater), Feinsteins at The Regency, Feinsteins/54 Below, Birdland Jazz Club, Amarnick-Goldstein Concert Hall, Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center, and The Missouri Theatre as well as London's Crazy Coqs and The Pheasantry to name a few. She has performed leading roles in musical theater, operettas and plays. New York highlights are: Ruth in Blithe Spirit, Marion Paroo in The Music Man, Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow, Miss Lucy in Sweet Bird of Youth, Laurey Williams in Oklahoma!, Melissa Gardner in Love Letters, the title role of Princess Ida, Princess Margaret in The Student Prince, Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, and Elsie Maynard in The Yeomen Of The Guard at venues including New York City Center, McCarter Theater, York Theatre Company, Rhynsburger Theatre, and with the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera amongst others. After producing her first supper club show Pure Imagination in 2009, she has been lauded for her tribute show to The Songbook of Julie Andrews; her tribute show to The Songbook of Barbara Cook; her duet show with the renowned Prince of Cabaret Steve Ross, We're Old Fashioned: The Jerome Kern Songbook; her salute to Tony Award-winning musicals, Lullaby of Broadway, and many more.
Her collection Pure Imagination began taking shape when she was producing and performing her first supper club show Pure Imagination. So both of her worlds have finally come together.
Shana believes...There is so much more to discover about life when you learn to listen to your creative senses. . .the senses that make up our individual image-nations. New ideas, stories, music, art, technology are all created within these worlds, and that's the power of IMAGINATION. After imagination comes INSPIRATION. I have been inspired by so many things in life - music, people, nature, art, literature, almost everything around me. I strongly believe that we, as individuals, must first recognize what inspires us, then take the time to appreciate it, and finally pass along that inspiration to the younger generations. Last is HARMONY - in all definitions of the word, but most importantly in the music sense. Music is a language that has no boundaries. It's a method of communication that needs no words to be understood. It's a way to express emotions. These three words can guide us in everything we do. They certainly guide me in both design and in song."
